Registered Care Managers Award
Helping you demonstrate achievement in Care to national standards
Introduction
The programme incorporates e-Learning with a mentor, a residential workshop, an assessment centre and business references to take you through the qualification to achieve the Registered Care Manager Award - a national target that care centre managers need to achieve as a licence to practice.
The assessment method uses a technique called the Professional Discussion where assessors observe workplace competence.
Course Structure / Assessment
The Registered Care Managers Award covers four core Units:
Unit 1: Diversity of People (Care Unit)
Unit 2: Managing a Service (Care Unit)
Unit 3: Managing Finance
Unit 4: Managing People
You then have to complete four additional Units where you choose an elective subject. For instance for Unit 6 learners can choose to complete one of the following electives:
- Develop Teams and Individuals to Enhance Performance
- Create, Maintain and Develop Working Environment
- Select Personnel for Activities
You will be assigned two dedicated Assessors, one for Care and the other for the Management elements of the programme. You will be visited during the programme to assess your performance. The programme can typically take 18 months to complete.
Learning Materials
e-assessment-4u partners with AdVal KeyKnowledge to make part of the learning available using e-Learning.
The materials are an electronic resource to support the management elements of the Registered Care Manager Award . The e-Learning is mapped to the qualification and uses video scenarios, interactive questions, case studies and exercises.
A residential workshop is offered throughout the country to cohorts of 8 or more to cover the care elements of the programme.
